General Travel Terms & Conditions
MOYO Nature Travel
Travelling with MOYO Nature Travel means choosing a conscious way of exploring the world. We organise Nature Positive journeys, retreats and training programmes where respect for nature, local communities and wildlife is central. As our trips often take place in natural environments — sometimes in remote locations — the following terms and conditions apply.
1. Applicability & Financial Protection
MOYO Nature Travel is affiliated with VZR Garant (www.vzr-garant.nl).
In order to comply with the legally required financial protection, MOYO Nature Travel makes use of the guarantee scheme of VZR Garant. Within the limits of this guarantee scheme (as published on the VZR Garant website), the guarantee applies.
This means that you, as a traveller, are assured of reimbursement of prepaid amounts if the trip cannot be carried out due to the financial insolvency of MOYO Nature Travel.
2. Booking and Formation of the Agreement
Bookings are confirmed via written confirmation by email.
After receiving your written acceptance, you will receive a booking confirmation and invoice. The travel agreement is concluded at the moment the confirmation is issued.
3. Payment
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the following payment terms apply:
- Upon conclusion of the travel agreement, a deposit of 20% of the total travel price must be paid within 7 days of the invoice date.
- No later than 12 weeks prior to departure, a total of 50% of the travel price must have been paid.
- The remaining balance of the travel price must be received by MOYO Nature Travel no later than 8 weeks prior to departure.
For bookings made within 8 weeks of departure, the full travel price is due immediately upon booking.
If a traveller fails to meet the payment obligations on time, MOYO Nature Travel reserves the right to terminate the agreement. Any costs resulting from this termination shall be borne by the traveller.
For specific expeditions, tailor-made journeys, or trips where early financial commitments are required with local partners, alternative payment terms may apply. These will be clearly stated in the quotation and/or invoice.
Any prepaid permits, local reservations, or other non-refundable components may be charged separately where applicable.
4. Cancellation by the Traveller
In the event of cancellation, the following cancellation fees apply:
- Up to and including 12 weeks before departure: the deposit (20%)
- Between 12 and 8 weeks before departure: 50% of the travel price
- From 8 weeks before departure onwards: 100% of the travel price
Any prepaid permits, local reservations, or other non-refundable components may be charged additionally where applicable.
We strongly recommend taking out comprehensive cancellation insurance.
5. Transfer of the Booking
It is possible to transfer the booking to another person, provided that the replacement traveller meets all participation requirements and that involved service providers and local partners permit the transfer.
Any additional costs resulting from the transfer shall be borne by the traveller.
6. Minimum Number of Participants
Group trips and retreats are subject to a minimum number of participants. This number is specified in the trip description.
If the minimum number is not reached, MOYO Nature Travel reserves the right to cancel the trip. In such cases, all payments made will be refunded in full.
Cancellation due to insufficient participants will take place no later than 4 weeks prior to departure.
7. Price and Programme Changes
MOYO Nature Travel reserves the right to adjust the travel price up to 14 days prior to departure due to changes in:
- fuel or energy costs
- taxes or levies imposed by third parties
- exchange rates
If a price increase exceeds 8% of the travel price, the traveller has the right to cancel the agreement free of charge.
If significant changes to the travel programme become necessary, MOYO Nature Travel will offer a suitable alternative of comparable quality, where reasonably possible.
8. Personal Information & Fitness to Participate
Travellers are required to provide relevant information regarding medical, physical, or other conditions that may affect the execution of the trip or the safety of the group.
Participation in nature-based journeys, retreats and training programmes requires a reasonable level of physical fitness. If participation poses a risk to the traveller or the group, MOYO Nature Travel reserves the right to refuse or terminate participation. Any resulting costs shall be borne by the traveller.
9. Insurance and Travel Documents
A valid travel insurance policy with appropriate coverage (including medical expenses and repatriation) is mandatory.
Cancellation insurance is strongly recommended.
Travellers are responsible for ensuring they possess valid travel documents, visas, vaccination certificates, and any other required documentation.
10. Liability
MOYO Nature Travel organises its journeys, retreats and training programmes with due care and works with carefully selected local partners and guides.
Participation in travel within natural environments involves inherent risks. Participation is at the traveller’s own responsibility.
MOYO Nature Travel is not liable for loss of or damage to personal belongings, unless such loss or damage results from proven negligence.
Participants are required to follow the instructions of guides and local partners at all times.
11. Respect for Nature and Local Communities
MOYO Nature Travel organises Nature Positive journeys. Participants are expected to:
- respect flora and fauna;
- comply with local laws and regulations;
- follow wildlife observation guidelines;
- avoid causing harm to ecosystems or local communities.
In cases of serious or repeated inappropriate behaviour, participation may be terminated without entitlement to a refund.
12. Minors
If a traveller is under 18 years of age, a signed consent form from a parent or legal guardian is required after booking.
