What is Nature Positive Tourism?
Nature Positive Tourism is about more than reducing harm.
It is about actively contributing to the health of nature and the well-being of the people who live and work there.
For decades, tourism has focused on sustainability as “doing less damage.” While that matters, it is no longer enough. Nature Positive Tourism asks a different question: How can tourism help nature recover and thrive?
At MOYO, we see tourism as a powerful connector. When done with care, it can restore ecosystems, strengthen local economies, and deepen people’s relationship with the natural world. Nature Positive Tourism means designing travel experiences that train tourism professionals in:
- support biodiversity and ecosystem restoration
- create fair and meaningful opportunities for local communities
- respect local culture, land, and knowledge
- reconnect people with nature in honest and lasting ways.
Our role is to turn these ideas into practice. Through our training programs, we help guides, entrepreneurs, and tourism professionals understand what nature positive really means – and how to apply it in their daily work.
Nature Positive Tourism is not a label or a trend.
It is a long-term commitment to leave places better than we found them.
